SIYABONGA MKHULISI

My name is Siyabonga Mkhulisi. I am currently studying my National Diploma in Child and Youth Development. I'm in my 3rd year. My hobbies are playing soccer, reading soccer magazines or newspapers, going out with my friends to watch live matches on stadium. I also love watching one day international cricket and I enjoy swimming. I am interested in working in court as a probation officer. I am interested in visiting places I haven't been to. I love going to camps as a group, climbing mountains up and down.

ROMAANA ESSOP

My name is Romaana Essop. I am a 19 year old vibrant young woman. I am currently a 3rd year Child and Youth Development student at the Durban Institute of Technology. I love listening to music, dancing, singing, cooking, baking and chatting with my friends. I am interested in completing my degree in Child and Youth Care and entering the work force. I would love to lecture and teach other young people the joys of the profession. The attitude I adopt is one of fun, understanding and optimism.

VUYISEKA SIKOTA

My name is Vuyiseka Sikota and I am twenty years old. My interest/hobbies are playing outdoors and indoors games, watching television, outgoing person (like shopping, movies), listening to music, playing netball, reading and traveling. With traveling on of my most important is working overseas one day and traveling all over the world. Current studies: I am currently doing my 3rd year level in Child and Youth Development in the Durban Institute of Technology

BIBION SHUSHA

My name is Bibion Shusha. I was born on 15 October 1977. I am from KwaZulu Natal, South Coast Port Shepstone and I am a second year student of Child and Youth Development at Durban Institute of Technology. My hobbies are: weight training, reading newspapers and watching TV. My interests are: playing rugby with young people, socializing with people. I have love for children and young people of which I didn't know that I can e able to offer that. I know for sure that way you put in is what you get out. God bless

PHINDILE DLAMINI

Phindile Dlamini is a very caring, loving, friendly, passionate, ambitious and hard working person. I like setting goals for myself and ensure that I reach them to the best of y ability. I am a very supportive person and love giving advice to those in need. I have an interest in people who believe in themselves and who don't give up easily.

My hobbies are watching TV, going to the movies with friends, baking and spending quality time with family. I am currently doing my second year in Child and Youth Development and I love every minute. The reason why I am doing these studies is because I hope to make a change in the lives of trouble young people and be a role model to which they will look up to for support, encouragement and most of all love and a sense of belonging. I hope that by getting this bursary, it's a dream come true!!

MBALENHLE NKOSI

My name is Mbalenhle Nkosi, although I prefer being called Mbali, I am 19 years old turning 20 on the 17th of December. I came from Vosloorus in Gauteng but currently residing in Durban because of my studies. I am currently a 2nd year student at the Durban Institute of Technology. Almost everyday after my lectures I attend Latin dance classes, basically that what I could call my hobby, but that's not all that interest me. I also have a passion for music, if I'm not out socializing I am indoors connecting with my music. I attend poetry session for some inspiration to get spiritual and soulful. I believe in being original, being yourself, that's what matters and people will either love you or hate you.

KUBENDRI MUDARAY

My name is Kubendri Mudaray I am a 21 year Aquarian. I am currently studying Child and Youth Development at the Durban Institute of Technology. My hobbies are reading, listening to music and playing sport. I am captain of netball club. My interests lie in going out with friends and I have love reading magazines. I consider myself to be a friendly person and I have a good sense of humour. I am determined and work hard to achieve my best.

SIMPHIWE NZAMA

My name is Simphiwe Nzama and I'm 20 years old. I am a kind, caring and a friendly person who enjoys making friends. I come from a family who loves school and believe in education as a gate to success. I am a hard worker when it comes to my studies. My interests are nature and getting to know more field that I'm currently studying which is Child and Youth Development. My hobbies are playing soccer, listening to music and interacting with other people. I am currently studying in Durban Institute of Technology.

PINKY CELE

I am Pinky Cele, 25 years of age doing my second year towards a diploma in Child and Youth Development. My interest is to finish this course and to work with children and youth in conflict with the law. I believe that I can make a difference with these children so that they can hear and be heard and because of my dedication. My hobbies are to read books, magazines that are interesting and that can increase my creativity. I work best under pressure and I am a self motivated person and has not yet been fully recognized I believe that I make my contribution by studying further especially with help of this bursary and doing more research about this course.

KHUMBUZILE ZUMA

My name is Khumbuzile Zuma and I am currently studying Child and Youth Development at the Durban Institute of Technology. I am a very hardworking individual and I work best under pressure. I am a people's person and therefore feel that I can be the best advocate for children and youth due to my past, my good manner of approach and understanding. My hobbies are reading, massaging, traveling, socializing and school work. My interests are music, dance, my career and my inspiration comes from assertiveness, community and my sense of humour. I believe that anything if not everything is possible.

THOBILE NGUBANE

I am currently studying Child and Youth Development (3rd year). I enjoy being around people and finding out about their beliefs, values, interest. I enjoy writing poetry because I find it easy to express my feelings through written words; I also enjoy reading other people's poetry. During my spare time I like to watch realty TV shows because I find them challenging and because they deal with everyday issues.

My interests are working with young people in conflict with the law and also working with street children.

ZUBENATHI HLONGWANE

My name is Zubenathi Hlongwane. I was born in 1982 completed my matric 1999. I'm doing my second year at Durban Institute of Technology studying towards my National Diploma in Child and Youth Development. My hobbies are reading newspapers, watching sports and playing soccer. I am proud to study child and youth development and I love to contribute to all young people needing my assistance. I am dedicated and working very hard in whatever I am doing. I always had love for young people. I believe that one day I will be a good advocate and good role model for many young people and youth.

PORTIA NGCUNGAMA

I like challenging situation as I am doing Child and Youth Development. I am a role model of young people at risk by providing positive relationships. I am understandable about their background and also sharing our experiences. I am doing optimistic in skills such as activities in outdoors and indoors with young people especial in camps and on their settings because we learn a different things and we cooperate in all aspect each person come out with his/her input in the group activities.

SARAH MALLOY

I am a 21 year old, who is studying Child and Youth Development and I am currently doing my Bachelor of Technology degree in Child and Youth Development. My career interest is in the field of adolescences and substance abuse. I am also interested in early childhood development. My hobbies include reading, baking, cooking, learning about different cultures and languages. I really enjoy working with young people who have difficulties as I was growing up; I overcome my difficulties so I like to help the young people to overcome theirs

PHILISIWE LUTHULI

B. Tech student in Child and Youth Development. I completed matric in year 2000 and volunteered for love life the following year because I had financial problems and couldn't further my studies. I worked until 2002 then I did youth work in communities through TSA (Marginalized Programme). I then started Child and Youth Development diploma in year 2003, until now as I am dong my B. Tech. I was able to be where I am today because I am a very dedicated, committed, energetic, hard working, etc, person. I have a positive view of myself and the future. I am in this helping profession because I believe there are lots of people out there who are seeking help but there is very limited help for now. I am a go getter kind of a person. Hobbies: socializing, sing, movies and learning new things.

BONGIWE THUSI

B. Tech student in Child and Youth Development. After my matric I joined the convent and did theology. I started Child and Youth Development course in 2003. I have enjoyed working with children and youth. I am patient, kind, loving and understanding. I am an adventurous person. I love singing and dancing.

NONKAZIMULO MCHUNU

My name is Nonkazimulo Mchunu and my friends call me Nkazi. I'm a young woman of 23 years. I live in a small town called Pietermaritzburg. I am a B. Tech student who enjoys doing research on young people who are "at risk". I am mostly interested in young people who are developmentally delayed and have learning challenges / problems with their school work. My current studies are Child & Youth Care IV, Applied Development IV, Administration & Management II, Youth Justice & Probation and most of all Research Methodology and Mini Research. When I'm not doing research during my leisure time, I enjoy going out with friends to watch movies and enjoy reading non-fiction books (novels).

RANUSHA NAIDOO

My name is Ranusha Naidoo, I am 21 years old. I live in the Bluff, Durban. I am currently doing my Bachelor of Technology in Child and Youth Development. I am also in my fourth and final year of studying. Some of my interests are reading, swimming, listening to music, relaxing and watching movies. I also love socializing and going out with friends. I have a huge love for children and enjoy spending time with my 5 year old niece and 10 month old nephew in my spare time. This love for children as drawn me to this career in child care. I am studying at the Durban Institute of Technology.

WINNIE DLAMINI

My name is Winnie Dlamini and I am 24 years old. I am doing my first year in Child and Youth Development at Durban Institute of Technology. I chose this course because I want to make a remarkable difference in children's lives out there. I like socializing with energetic young people. My hobbies are church attending, baking and watching TV. I am inspired by successful people for poor background.

SIWELILE ZAMA

I am currently studying the national diploma in Child and Youth Development and this is my third year level of studying. What does interest me is being with young people and sharing ideas with them which is why I chose to study in this field. I enjoy spending my spare time with my friends, playing soccer, cricket as well as reading. I also enjoy listening to music especially house and kwaito music. I am interested in assisting young people with their difficulties especially those who are face with drug problems.
